A Sacred Cleanse for Inner Clarity — Honoring the Body as Temple
A February Reset for Energy, Creativity & Emotional Clarity
I am an Aquarian queen. I grew up in Guatemala City, moving fast, getting things done, always in motion. I remember believing it was completely normal to never rest. To stay active. To push. I was the gym fitness girl, always training, always achieving, going to church, involved in everything, constantly engaged. Productivity felt like identity. Movement felt like worth.
In my Pitta years — and being Pitta in my constitution, (especially during the stage of life between 14 and 50) — that drive felt natural. Fire, ambition, motivation, action. I was built for intensity. Or at least, that’s what I thought.
But what I did not see was how I was overpowering my own feminine nature.
My cycles were painful. Menstruation would sometimes put me in bed for days. My body was inflamed. My mind was constantly in fight-or-flight mode. I thought this was normal too. I thought strong meant pushing through.
There was very little awareness that I was living disconnected from my cyclical rhythm as a woman.
When yoga entered my life, everything began to change. My breath softened first. I slowed down not because I was forced to, but because something inside me wanted to. Breath became my anchor. Slowing down became strength. And how I adore it!
Meditation became easier. My flexibility improved — not only physically, but emotionally. As I allowed my body to soften, I allowed my mind to soften. I began to pause. To breathe before reacting. To learn from my mistakes instead of punishing myself for them.
I still make mistakes. Many. But now I see them. I adjust. I release. I begin again. I protect my body as much as I can. I honor my energy differently. I no longer glorify exhaustion.
And this is why the concept of a sacred cleanse is so personal to me.
February carries a quieter invitation than January. The urgency of resolutions begins to soften, and beneath the surface there is a deeper call, not to push harder, but to refine, to cleanse, to listen. Many women arrive at this moment feeling overstimulated, hormonally imbalanced, creatively blocked, or emotionally tired. The body feels inflamed or depleted. The mind feels busy. The heart feels slightly disconnected.
Yet hormonal imbalance is often not a malfunction. It is communication.
It is the body asking to be treated as sacred architecture once again.
In yogic and Ayurvedic wisdom, hormonal balance is not separate from spirit or lifestyle. It is intimately connected to three subtle forces within us: Prana, Tejas, and Ojas. When these energies are nourished, hormones communicate clearly, the cycle stabilizes, the mind softens, and creativity awakens naturally. When they are depleted, the body becomes inflamed, exhausted, anxious, and disconnected from its own rhythm.
The temple does not need punishment. It needs cleansing.
A sacred cleanse is not about shrinking yourself or controlling your body. It is about clearing space so your truth can breathe again.
The Body as Temple: Returning to Sacred Architecture
To honor the body as temple means recognizing that it responds to rhythm, breath, nourishment, and intention. It means understanding that your energy is not meant to operate in a constant linear output. Feminine vitality is cyclical. It expands and retreats like the moon, and when we live against this nature, imbalance appears.
Prana:
Prana is your life-force energy — the subtle current that moves through your breath and nervous system. When Prana flows freely, you feel light yet grounded. Your thoughts become more spacious. Your emotions move without becoming stuck. Your cycle feels less chaotic and more rhythmic. There is a sense of quiet aliveness in the body.
But when stress becomes chronic, breath becomes shallow. Cortisol rises. The pelvic floor tightens. Creativity dims. Over time, hormonal communication between brain and ovaries can become disrupted.
This is why breath is medicine.
Practices like Full Yogic breath — allowing the ribs, belly, and back body to expand fully — begin restoring safety to the nervous system. Alternate nostril breathing gently harmonizes the hemispheres of the brain and calms internal noise. Long, slow exhales signal to the body that it is safe to soften.
Movement becomes prayer when approached this way. Spinal waves, hip circles, gentle backbends, and slow sun salutations that feel devotional rather than competitive increase circulation to the reproductive organs and reduce stress hormones. When Prana flows again, you do not feel wired — you feel alive.
Tejas:
Tejas is your inner fire, the intelligence that allows you to digest not only food but experiences. It governs metabolism, liver detoxification, discernment, and clarity. Balanced Tejas supports healthy hormone conversion and gives you the ability to set boundaries without guilt.
Yet modern women often live in extremes. Some push so intensely that their internal fire overheats, leading to inflammation, irritability, hormonal acne, or sharp emotional reactivity. Others collapse into depletion, experiencing brain fog, low motivation, and sluggish digestion.
Balancing Tejas requires honoring your fire without letting it consume you.
Twisting yoga postures gently massage the liver and support natural detoxification pathways that are essential for estrogen balance. Warrior II held with steady breath builds grounded confidence. A moderate plank strengthens the body without aggression. Beyond the mat, Tejas is refined when you eat earlier in the evening, reduce overstimulation before bed, speak truth instead of swallowing resentment, and stop overcommitting out of obligation.
Fire is sacred when it is directed with awareness.
Ojas:
Ojas is the deepest reservoir of feminine vitality. It is the glow in your skin, the steadiness in your emotions, the warmth in your sensuality, and the resilience of your immune system. Ojas stabilizes hormones long-term and protects you from burnout. When Ojas is depleted, fragility appears — low libido, dryness, emotional overwhelm, chronic fatigue.
You cannot build Ojas through intensity. You build it through devotion.
Supported bridge pose. Legs up the wall. Forward folds that quiet the mind. Warm broths. Oil massage before showering. Sleeping before 10 PM. Saying no when your body whispers no.
Ojas grows when a woman chooses herself gently but firmly.
The Sacred Cleanse: Clearing Space for Inner Clarity
A February reset is not extreme detox. It is refinement. It is simplifying your inputs so your system can recalibrate. Light, nourishing meals. Herbal infusions. Reduced digital stimulation. Earlier sleep. More silence.
This cleanse becomes especially powerful during transitional periods such as the New Moon and the sacred Mayan days of WAYEB — the space between cycles. WAYEB is a pause before renewal, a threshold that invites introspection rather than outward striving.
Combined with the New Moon, it becomes fertile darkness — a moment to release what no longer aligns and plant intentions rooted in authenticity.
During this sacred time, you may begin asking deeper questions:
What stories am I still carrying that belong to an older version of myself?
What habits quietly drain my energy?
Where am I attached to past identities that no longer feel true?
What expectations am I holding that were never mine?
Cleansing the body supports cleansing the mind. And cleansing the mind supports hormonal clarity.
When Prana flows freely, Tejas transforms wisely, and Ojas is protected, the body responds. Energy stabilizes. Mood softens. Creativity reawakens. The cycle feels less like a burden and more like guidance.
Balancing hormones naturally is not about mastering your body. It is about listening to it. It is about cooperating with your cyclical nature instead of fighting it. It is about honoring the temple with breath, movement, nourishment, boundaries, and sacred pauses.
This is the essence of a sacred cleanse for inner clarity. Not becoming someone new, but remembering who you are beneath the noise.
When the body is honored as temple, vitality returns.
Emotional balance steadies. Creativity flows again.
And from that clarity, you move forward not with force, but with coherence.
Honoring the body as temple means listening before pushing, nourishing before demanding, and resting before breaking.
It means remembering that strength is not constant intensity.
It is rhythm.
With love and Magic for this Mayan New Year of 1 Kej.
Love and harmony to your femininity!
